Week 6 is in the books and a couple interesting results shook things up a bit amongst the AGS Top 25 but things stayed relatively calm once again. North Dakota State maintained its hold on #1 but by a razor thin 5-point margin. South Dakota State moved up a spot to #2 over Montana who dropped to #3 by an even slimmer margin of a single point. Sacramento State and Montana State maintained their positions at #4 and #5, respectively.
William & Mary led the charge of teams moving up rising 6 spots to #11 after a huge win over CAA heavyweight Delaware. The only other team from last week’s top 25 moving up more than 2 spots was idle Richmond who moved up 3 spots to #20 due to some losses in front of them. Furman moved up 5 spots to get back into the top 25 at #23 and Fordham made their first appearance in the AGS Top 25 since the 2017 preseason poll coming in at #24.
As for teams moving down Delaware dropped 6 spots to #12 following their aforementioned loss to William & Mary. Southeastern Louisiana plummeted 11 spots to #22 after being upset by Texas A&M-Commerce who is in the first year of their D1 transition. Missouri State and Eastern Washington each fell out of the top 25 after each took their 4th straight loss on Saturday.
In terms of conference representation, the CAA led the way placing 5 teams into the top 25. They were followed by the Big Sky, MVFC, and SOCON with 4 each and the Patriot League, OVC, and Southland with 2 teams each in the top 25. Once again 9 conferences were represented in the AGS Top 25.
